Admiral Kuznetsov.

This is coolbert:

Russian military build-up in Syria and immediate environs continues more or less unabated?

Yet more from the latest edition of the DEBKAfile newsletter:

"Russia to deploy its only heavy aircraft carrier to the Mediterranean"

7 March.

"Moscow is planning to send its only heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser 'Admiral Kuznetsov' into the Mediterranean sea in the summer to lead a permanent naval group. It will be upgraded for new types of aircraft and munitions, including the new MiG-29K and 'other planes.' The Kuznetzov can carry forty SU-33, Mig-29 and SU-25UT fighter jets and 24 helicopters"

UNDERSTAND THIS TO BE THE FIRST TIME THE RUSSIAN NAVY HAS DEPLOYED AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER TO A WAR ZONE PRESUMABLY ANOTHER CONTINGENT PART AND PARCEL OF THE RUSSIAN MILITARY EFFORT IN THE SYRIAN CIVIL WAR!
